As God’s heart is compassionate towards his children, his desire is that his children show compassion towards each other, and towards their neighbors (Philippians 2:1). Church-Link provides a useful set of tools that can help the Church organize, plan, and implement projects of compassion and service both within and outside its walls.


The Church-Link Compassion Workspace

The Compassion workspace is a template to be used by a church, ministry, or group as a single point of communication and organization around a specific need to be met within the community. Permission can be set to allow access only those within a specific security role, ensuring privacy around sensitive matters. A new Compassion Workspace is created when a need has been identified and a team or group of individuals may be required to meet that need. The workspace serves as an on-line resource to aid the team in fulfilling the need in a timely and efficient manner. Each Compassion Workspace includes the following collection of tools:

• Introduction (a description of the need, including as much detail or history as deemed necessary)
• Links to relevant web sites
• Issues list
• Decisions list
• Task list
• Contacts list
• Prayer Requests module
• Team contact information (a Member Directory module filtered to include only those involved in the effort)

The above workspace may be customized to include additional modules and functionality, such as:

• An announcements list
• A documents library to store files relevant to the Compassion workspace
• On-line discussion forum to be used by the team
• Group chat module
