About Church-Link Skins

Church-Link administrators are able to manage the look and feel of their web site through the use of an integrated site skinning mechanism. A Skin is defined as the set of design elements (graphics, colors, menu style, header, background, layout, etc.) that produce the overall appearance of the web site. Site administrators may select from the available skins and apply them to the entire site, a single page, or set of pages. This flexibility allows you to select the look and feel for your site, while simultaneously allowing for an alternate appearance for selected groups or ministries. You may also elect to change the look and feel of your entire site periodically, or to reflect various seasons or different times of the year.

There are two types of site skins available with every Church-Link subscription:

1. Built-in skins
2. Custom skins

Using Built-In Site Skins

Each Church-Link site includes a version of every skin displayed in the Design Gallery. Administrators can upload a logo file that is immediately displayed in the site banner section, and switch site skins with just a few mouse clicks. This is the quickest and easiest way to maintain and alter the look and feel of your site.

The Church-Link Custom Design Process

Your Church-Link site is not limited to built-in skins. Every Church-Link subscription includes  one customized site skin design as part of the setup and configuration process (additional custom designs are available - please see the Pricing page for information about design customization fees).

Each Church-Link site may be specifically tailored to meet the unique needs and branding of your church or organization. We work toward that goal by utilizing the following design customization process:

• If you have a logo that you would like to utilize in your custom design, we will use the colors and styles within the logo to develop your site skin. This results in a consistent branding theme. If you don't have a logo, we can create one for you (see the Pricing page for information about custom logo design fees).
• Look through the Church-Link Design Gallery to get an idea of what you might like your site to look like. The design gallery contains sample skins which collectively showcase many of the options available, including site headers, backgrounds, menus, content containers, and buttons. Feel free to mix and match the design elements to your own taste. Make note of which design (or designs) that most reflect what you're after. The gallery is not meant to lock you into any single design, but to merely offer some ideas.
• Fill out the Church-Link design customization worksheet. This will provide us specific details about your design preferences.
• We will then produce a first draft of your site skin.
• You review the draft and offer feedback
• We iterate through design revisions and work towards the final design.
• We're not finished until you're satisfied!
